Early SOF 1993 BUTCH VALLOTTON Liner Lock AUTO with Black Micarta and ATS-34 Blade

 Butch Vallotton is considered one of the finest automatic knifemakers specializing in double action autos and for converting manual folders into automatic. He started making knives full time in 1984, making his first auto in 1987. His assisted knife technology is in current use by Gerber, and he has worked with Spyderco and Microtech designing the very collectible Chameleon Double Action. 

This is a very early (1993) Heavy Duty Liner Lock Auto made for 1993 Soldier of Fortune Show. Measures 5 1/2" closed.  It Features a 4 1/2" Gray Bead Blast Blade made of premium razor sharp ATS-34 stainless with Black Micarta. Blade is etched with Butch, Rainy and Shaun Vallotton's Names and Logos. This model was the ONLY one made as a Single Action. (All the other SOF Models in the series were D/A Double Action; which means they worked manually or automatically). This was the only one that was automatic only.

The handles are Black Micarta with a  flush mounted Button etched "SOF 1993" . Titanium Liners.. Side opening piece operates via leaf spring. Features Superb Action with a Rock Solid Titanium Liner Lock. Overall length open is 9 7/8".  Serialized 12 of 50 on the backside of the blade. . Overall good-very good condition..Bead Blast Blade shows some light and dark shades and some handling marks from light carry/handling, but overall a very clean piece ... Includes a custom zippered pouch. Includes a signed Certificate of Authenticity.
