From 1923-1951, Union Cutlery Co or KABAR  made the most heavy duty switchblades during this time frame. This Lever action  design was made for the mid to upper end of the sporting market and were much more better built than the other vintage American models.  In addition to this model,  KA-BAR produced a larger switchblade hunting model called the Grizzly, and a scaled down version of the Grizzly called the  Baby Grizzly; the 61105 Lever Release knives are just as rare, but don't command quite as high prices. When these early Ka-Bar models were made, few could afford them, as they were high dollar back then,  thus there are fewer out there to collect.

They operate similar to the Hubertus line from Germany, however the backspring is the kickspring. Flipping up on the lever acts as the safety and pressing down activates the knife. We've only had a handful of these since AIK started business... Includes a custom storage/presentation case.
