 Charlie Dake was originally an engineer who started making knives in the late 80's...Hurricane Katrina destroyed his shop in 2005, and he never recovered from that.

This is a rare prototype marked Auto Coffin Dagger that is Coil Activated. Side Opening Auto Operates by pressing on the recessed Button.  Features a lightweight polished aluminum frame with polished Bolsters and Coffin Shaped Mosaic Abalone Shell Handles.  Dake was one of the first custom makers to offer automatic knives to collectors.

Mirror Polished  3 1/4" Dagger Style Blade, (no nail nick) features Razor Sharp ATS-34 stainless. Abalone Shell is stunning with lots of character.  Measures 4 3/8" closed.. Includes a custom zippered pouch. Features superb action with Rock-Solid Lockup.

Outstanding quality piece. Lots of detail work make this a superb investment. Abalone Shell Handles are "dove tailed" at the top bolster.  Back of the tang is marked "PROTO". Frontside is marked with the maker's name "DAKE". Includes a custom zippered storage pouch.
