Sam Stoner Amish Forged Saw Steel Skinner w/ Cherry Wood
[SS-CHERRY1]

Sam Stoner Amish Made (Scottsville, KY)  Saw Steel Skinner with Feathered Cherry Wood Handles

A rarity among custom knifemakers Sam is Old Order Mennonite and does not use any electricity or motors in his shop. All of his equipment is connected to pulleys and belts on a overhead drive shaft which is powered by two large horses walking on a treadmill. Instead of forging his blades in a gas furnace he uses a hand crank coal fired forge. (which provides for a more even and adjustable air flow).

Most of us are inconvenienced by a couple of hours of no electricity whereas it is hard to imagine running a complete knife shop without electric! or phone! WOW! The results are truly remarkable.

This  Beautiful Skinner features a 3 3/4" Hand Forged Blade Forged from a Saw Blade (which is 5160 Tool Steel), with Feathered Cherry Wood Handles. Overall length is 8".  Heavy Duty Full Tang construction with a lanyard hole at the base of the handle. Blade is marked with the maker's initials SS. Handles feature stainless pins and a "Star" Mosaic Pin Inlay in the center.

The perfect piece for most any purpose, from self defense to hunting, perfectly designed to appeal to those who actually use their knives in the field, yet right at home for reinactors, renaissance or rendezvous meets, or those who want a blade made the traditional true way (coal forged).

Includes a beautiful handmade leather with a Dyed Python Skin Inlay. Deep Carrry sheath is designed so your knife seats deep so there is no chance of losing it in the field.  We carry the largest selection of Sam's knives at the very best price and without the long wait time.
