Hubertus Solingen, Germany (Prototype/Muster) Mini Springer    (08cm/5 3/4" Open) with Unique Egyptian Horn Handles

Features Nickel Silver Bolsters and Brass Liners. 2 3/8" Clip Point Blade is etched with the HUBERTUS Name and "MUSTER", ("Muster" which translated = sample/proto)  Measures 5 3/4" overall open. Features Superb action with rock solid lockup. Handles are a glossy grayish-brown colored Buffalo Horn. (You have to look at it in the sunlight to really see the coloring).

This being marked as a sample/proto was probably due to the unique colored horn handles. This horn most likely is Egyptian Horn rather than Brazilian Horn which is typically more black in color with the white streaking or green translucent color you see on some Italian classics.

This 08cm model is an earlier production piece from the mid-late 90's. The blade is much more narrow with a "nail nick". (much more attractive blade), than the newer "wide" variations that Hubertus made before being sold to OTTER; which in addition to being extremely wide, had a much more radical clip point design without the "nail nick". These are easily identified, absurd looking, and should be avoided like the plague.

The Lever Action Design works by Pressing down on the lever to activate, flipping up on the lever when carrying, (acts as the safety). Handcrafted European classic. Rare/Mint Condition. Includes a custom zippered pouch.
