Rare 2008 "Stan" Due Buoi Maniago, Italy Lever Action Auto "Plan" (Limited 1 of 50 Made) Serial #6 

  DUE BUOI was founded in 1884 in Maniago by Pietro Rosa, the great-grandfather of the current owner, and specialize mainly in agriculture tools and kitchen cutlery. DUE BUOI started making Italian Switchblades relatively recently (early 2000's and they are no longer making them).

The Italian styled knives they made were promoted as "forged cutlery" and "the only forged switchblades from Maniago". The Blades and the parts were all hand forged, rather than stamped like all the other makers in Maniago. Producing knives in this manner is very labor intensive and expensive.

Due Buoi started his adventure about two decades too early when he introduced his products and thus, many collectors found them to be overpriced, and so the shop discontinued making switchblades and they are now becoming collectible as collectors realize how nice they actually were.  This model was a limited edition of only 50 pieces. This Italian DUE BUOI Lever Action features a solid forged frame made of AISI 420 Stainless Steel.  The 3 1/4" Hand Forged Spear Point blade features AISI 440-C Stainless (56 HRC). Overall length is 7 1/2". It is similar in design to the early French made coffin lever actions as the bolster is partially milled out for the lever to lie flat creating a more streamlined appearance and making it easier to carry. Measures 4 3/8" closed. Weighs 4.6 oz.

This model works like the Hubertus Lever Action models and opens by pressing down on the lever. Flipping up on the lever acts as the safety. These lever models from Due Buoi are extremely hard to find. Features Rock Solid Lockup.. An excellent addition to your collection. Mint Piece. Includes a custom zippered pouch.
