[KEEN KUTTER]

This Item Has Been Sold!

Rare Vintage American Made "KEEN KUTTER" Bowtie Switchblade.

1950's era piece with a 3" Mirror Polished Carbon Steel Blade.  Handles are referred to as "Brown Lined Cream" Celluloid Handles but look more like Remington's "Horn Pyralin" Handles with Brass Liners and Nickel Silver Bolsters. Measures 4" Closed. Sliding safety. Overall excellent-near mint condition. Blade seats deep in the handle. Action is excellent..Blade has superb action & lockup for a knife of this era.. Mirror Polished Carbon Steel Blade is full and shows some minor pitting on the front side. Back side is clean. Front tang is stamped "KEEN KUTTER", back side is marked "US PATS DEC 21, 09, SEPT 13, 10, JUNE 6, 16". Safety works, handles are mint with no shrinkage or rivet cracks..

Keen Kutter pieces are extremely hard to find. Many collectors collect the name; Keen Kutter was a trademark of E.C. Simmons Hardware & Shapleigh Hardware. The knives were actually made by Schrade . One of the few we ever had the pleasure of offering. An exact copy of this model sold for $1,200 at the Simmons and Company auction in Richmond MO on  October 18th 2008; (this model was nowhere near as nice as this one we have)...
