Vintage E Weck & Son New York, NY , (Made by Schrade Cutlery Company) American Made 3 3/8" Double Button Switchblade with Pick Bone Handles

Double Button Switchblade made for E Weck & Son. Weck contracted with Schrade to make this knife between 1900-1925. Edward Weck immigrated from Solingen, Germany to New York and operated his cutlery shop in New York (on Fulton St), selling razors and other pocket knives.

This model features Brown Pick Bone Handles with nickel silver bolsters at each end. Double button design that Schrade is famous for. Measures 3 3/8" closed. Main Blade measures 2".  Small Pen Blade measures 1 5/8". Blades seat below the brass liners.

Main blade is very clean but shows some pitting on the front side; clean on the backside. Tang is marked "E WECK & SON NEW YORK"  Backspring is clean with no pitting or staining. Main Blade has up & down blade movement when open, (no side to side).

Smaller pen blade is full with some pitting but is overall clean. Pen Blade is marked on the tang "US PATS DEC. 21, 09-SEPT. 13, 10- JUNE 6, 16" , and locks up solid in the open position. Both blades have "bounce back" when you open them from overly powerful springs. Very good condition overall. Rare tang stamping. Not an easy piece to find in any condition; especially this nice. Includes a custom zippered pouch.

Safeties work on both blades. Attractive Pick Bone Handles are in excellent condition on both sides with little to no shrinkage and no rivet cracks. Overall length open (with both blades open) is 7 1/8". Rare piece for your collection.. Highly Recommended!
