Vintage (1950's era) QUEEN CUTLERY (Titusville, PA) JET  Toothpick pattern Switchblade with Safety

The Queen "JET" Switchblade (Model 25) features Imitation jigged bone handles with polished steel bolsters.. 3 7/8" Mirror Polished Blade with a 3 3/8" sharpened edge is marked with a large "Q" on the front side of the tang and "PAT. PENDING" on the backside.

Black imitation Jigged Bone handles with brass liners. Sliding safety located below the button. Measures 8 7/8" overall open. Closed size is 5". Queen switchblades are hard to find. They made two models; one with a safety and one without, both toothpick patterns. Both are considered uncommon to rare. This is one of the few vintage switchblades, (or switchblades in general), that do not lock in the open position; (like a slip joint pocket knife).

The unique patented opening mechanism is unusual in that the pin for the push-button extends slightly out to the other side of the handle when you press it to open it, thus you have to make sure when you hold it you are not pressing against the pin. Condition is Very Good+ overall. Blade shows some very light staining (you have to look hard).  Action is good. Handles show no rivet cracks. Safety works. Blade hugs one side of the liners when closed.  Includes a custom zippered pouch. Highly Recommended for your Vintage American Made collection.
