Vintage PRESTO (1929-1956) "Paratrooper Style"  Small   "Derby Guard" Switchblade KNIFE with "Brain Worm Groove" Imitation Jigged Bone Handles

Presto was the name George Schrade (Bridgeport, Conn) used for the majority of their knives. This model Measures 4" closed. Overall length is 7".  The 3" Mirror polished Clip point Blade is marked "PRESTO PAT JAN 30-40 MADE IN U.S.A." on the front of the tang and "GEO. SCHRADE KNIFE CO INC B'P'T CONN." on the backside.

Superb example rarely found so nice! Blade is clean and full with only minor staining on the backside. Handles are imitation "Jigged Bone" handles referred to as "Brain Wormgroove".   Polished "fixed guard" Nickel Silver bolsters that resemble a "Derby" hat , (hence the name).. Safety is fully functional.

Blade seats deep in the handle and is centered. Action is excellent with solid lockup. Tangs are nice and clean. Inside is clean. Handles are excellent with no rivet cracks.  Normally when found these are really beat up because the were heavily used. This is an exceptionally clean and tight example. Condition is excellent +.

This Model with fixed finger guards and "Derby Hat" Styled bolster is very rare and collectible = Two sizes were made (a larger version and smaller version), this is the smaller, more rare model. Includes a custom zippered storage pouch. Highly Recommended for Oldies fans! Rare Chance to find one this nice!
