Rare Hirschkrone German BUND Pilot Survival White Hunter

Genuine German BUND Bundeswehr Issue by Hirschkrone-Solingen Germany  (Pilot Survival Knife)

The Hirschkrone Model 3050 H knife was chosen in 1984 to be the official issued Bundeswehr (Unified Armed Forces of Germany) flying corps knife in Germany.(Pilot Survival Knife).  It resembles the Puma "White Hunter" (except for the Rosewood handle). The Puma was also considered for the Bundeswehr, but the Hirschkrone model was found to have better steel for it's intended purpose.  (The Puma blade was said to be too brittle to pry off jet canopies, etc.)

Hirschkrone knives are very hard to find in the US. They were imported in limited quantities in the late 80's and 90's.  This model has never been carried, used, or sharpened.  It includes the original leather belt sheath and box. (Box is just a plain unmarked box)..  One side is of the tang is marked "BUND", the other has the Hirschkrone logo along above "Solingen" and "Rostfrei"=(Stainless).  This would be an excellent addition to your knife collection or military collection. No finer example out there.

Knife measures 10 3/4" overall. The 440 Solingen Stainless Blade measures 6 1/8" and is 1/4" thick. Blade features 1 1/4" of fine serrations at the base of the blade (just like the White Hunter). Heavy Duty Full Tang Construction.. Aggressive non-slip thumb ramp at the base of spine gives the user superb control. Aluminum finger guard. Super heavy duty piece. Weighs in at 10oz. (12.0 with the Leather Double Snap Belt sheath). . Extremely hard to find now. Like buying a Vintage White Hunter only better in quality and price! Also Includes a Jumbo AIK Custom Zippered Pouch.
