Rare PANZER-MESSER German Made Front Opening Auto by ERN  (Solingen, Germany) with Polished Aluminum Frame, Mirror Polished Blade with Trap Door and Genuine Stag Inlays

Very Rare 1960's era Front Opening Knife from Germany with Polished Aluminum Handles with  Genuine Stag inlays on both sides for a grip.. This model features a mirror polished 3 1/2" Solingen stainless blade etched "ERN SOLINGEN WALD" on the frontside with the Crown and Sword logo. Features a "trap door" closure that can be opened and locked into the handle. (Blade will open with the door closed).

Note: This version is a big step above the plastic version of the Panzer-Messer. Blade has a better mirror polish and there is less "shake, rattle, and roll" with this upgraded model.

Measures 5 1/2" closed. ERN was best known for gravity operated knives.They referred to this knife as a "FLY OUT/FLY IN" with ejecting and rejecting blade" This piece is no comparison to a Microtech or Benchmade or other modern front opener; the blade "shakes, rattles, and  rolls", (like their gravity models), but this was the norm for front openers and gravity fed knives of this era. 

Extremely Rare 60's era piece...Very good-Excellent condition..Operates smoothly. Blade and handle has scratches/handling marks. (These are old and rare); We've only seen this model with stag once. It appears the stag inlays are factory. Includes a custom zippered pouch.
