Very Early Production (early 1950's era) HUBERTUS, SOLINGEN- GERMANY Large Sized Lever Action Auto  with "Jigged" Metal Handles

One of the earliest Hubertus Springer models we had the pleasure of offering, this Large Sized Springer from Hubertus features Polished Metal Handles which are finished with a Jigged Bone Type Pattern that gives the user a sure grip. Carbon Steel Blade measures 3 3/8" and has the Hubertus Tang Stamp on the front side. Measures 7 3/4" Overall open. Bottom Bolster is marked "SPRINGER" and "D.R.G.M." (From 1891 to 1952, products manufactured in Germany might have been stamped with this D.R.G.M. designation, if the manufacturer opted not to pay the outrageous patent fees that Germany was charging, (36 times the American price for a patent), but instead chose to copyright their product’s design. This copyright was initially for a period of 3 years, with an option to extend it for another 3. This gave the copyright owner a maximum of 6 years protection.)

Chromed Metal bolsters with Steel Liners..Features superb action and lockup. Operates by pressing down on the lever. Flipping up on the lever acts as the safety. Custom zippered pouch included. A true handcrafted piece for the finest collection. Very Rare early production piece. Very Good-Excellent Condition. Blade is full but does show some light age pitting. Handles are in very good condition with some minor handling marks.   Direct from our contacts in Germany.
