HUBERTUS / AIK CUSTOM "PEN BLADE" RELEASE Auto with Abalone Shell Handles and Hand File Work

This unique"Springer" by Hubertus of Solingen, Germany and Customized by AIK is activated by pressing on the small 2" Pen Blade which automatically opens the 3 1/8" Clip Point Main Blade by an Internal leaf spring. Blade is 440 Solingen Stainless ("nail nick" is on the backside of the blade), and holds a superb edge.  Clever design fools everyone as it has no levers or buttons and somewhat resembles a manual trapper pattern folder.

This beautiful piece features stunning Abalone Shell Handles which are accented with Detailed Hand File Work on both backsprings, both blades, and the liners!  A gorgeous piece for the finest collection! Abalone is vibrant and full of color and is referred to as "Nature's Rainbow". This Abalone was carefully selected and cut direct from the shell with two pieces on each side of the handle. (Normally we use Mosaic Abalone which is small pieces of real Abalone Shell compressed on a sheet; which allows it to be used on larger projects.  When Abalone is cut direct from the shell, you only can use small pieces; it is much more time consuming and difficult, however the "cut" shell is often more vibrant in color.)
