Vintage Early American Schrade Walden Hunters Pride Swing Guard

1946-57 Original Schrade Walden Swing Guard "Hunter's Pride"

 Early Vintage American made model by Schrade-Walden which produced switchblades from (1946-1957).  This model Features Brown Jigged Bone Handles which is unusual; ( this model more commonly is found with Black Imitation Jigged Bone Handles (Delrin). Features a Sliding Safety and Steel Bolsters with steel liners and a Nickel Silver Swing Guard. Polished Carbon Steel Blade (which is normally etched "HUNTER'S PRIDE", but it is extremely rare to find a model with an etching).  Measures 3 1/2".   Measures 4 7/8" closed. Tang is marked "SCHRADE WALDEN NY USA"..(Backside of the tang is unmarked).

Unique Nickel Silver Swing Guard folds down with the blade. Has considerable up and down blade movement, with minimal side to side play when in the open position. Exceptional looking handles with virtually no shrinkage or rivet cracks. Very Good-Excellent condition. Blade appears to be full with no visable signs of staining or pitting.  

Usually when found this model is beat up because they were heavily used. The Swing Guard is usually missing and the etch is always missing..This is a very nice example for your vintage collection. Custom zippered pouch included.
