Rare French Made SWING GUARD Classic by BEGON. (Pronounced "BayJon")

Vintage Piece (60's-70's era), Similar in design and appearance to the French Bargeon Made Classic. Made by BEGON (not BARGEON= ; this is a different French company). Features a 4 3/8" mirror-polished Blade (3 5/8" sharpened edge), and is marked on the tang "BEGON INOX". Backside of the tang is marked "MODELE DEPOSE" which in French means "Registered Design" (another way to say "PATENT PENDING"). 

Blade features a "swedge" grind on the top of the blade (1 3/4" along the top). Measures 9 1/4" overall open. Handles are a non-slip black checkered composition with stainless liners. Features a zinc safety.

Bolsters, swing guards, and retangular push button are constructed of polished Stainless. Measures 5" closed. Weighs 4oz.. Features superb action. Lockback release... Side opening with a drop in leaf spring design. 

These are extremely hard to obtain, and list for as high was $750+ when you do find one, making it a must for your international collection. Includes a custom zippered pouch. Very Good-Excellent  condition.
