1990 Ka-Bar KABAR Long John Dog's Head Oversized Slip Joint Folder with Genuine Stag Handles

Very Cool Vintage (1990) piece from Kabar. 4 1/2" Mirror Polished Blade (1095 Tool Steel). Polished Nickel Silver pinched Bolsters with a Nickel Silver Dog's Head inlaid in the unique Genuine Stag Handles. "Unique" Stag because it has some unique coloring (bluish green color) on the front side, which looks like what they call "Verdigris" (which you see most of the time on brass and especially on leather sheaths with brass rivets).

Verdigris is not “rust” in the iron sense; it’s a copper acetate compound that develops naturally on copper‑containing metals like brass. So if it actually is "verdigris", we never seen it discolor Stag; regardless, it did a handsome job of creating a cool color scheme on the stag. 

Overall length open is 9 3/4". Measures 5 1/4" closed. High Quality piece USA Made by Kabar (Olean, NY).  Blade is marked "KABAR" on the tang. Backside is marked "LJN 90". Serialized on the bottom bolster #301. (Only 501 were made). Includes Kabar Factory Box ... Mint Piece. Unused/Uncarried..
