Rare Early Benchmade EMERSON CQC7 Auto Tanto 9700-S
[9700-S]

Early Production Benchmade / Emerson "CQC7" Model 9700-S   Auto-Tanto

Benchmade's shortest lived Auto; (It was discontinued after only a brief time in production),    The Emerson CQC7 Auto Tanto 9700 was one of the largest automatics they made, (the Bedlam was slightly larger). Many refer to this model as the "Super CQC7" Auto, apparently because of the size, but Benchmade never called it that in it's catalogs.

The special part serrated 4" Chisel Ground Tanto blade features ATS-34 Stainless with a Gray Bead Blast finish. The Solid Black G-10 Handles features a lanyard hole at the base, and a pocket clip on the backside. Measures 5 1/4" closed.

Overall length open on this piece is 9 1/4". Recessed button, coil fired, side opener. Extremely hard to find now, this model is mint in unused/uncarried condition . Box is excellent also and original with paperwork. This model was introduced right at the time Benchmade moved into the Oregon City, OR factory. Features excellent action and rock solid lockup.

This is the best example of a 9700 we've had (or we've seen from others), since these were released. No finer example out there! Last time we had a 9700 was in 2020 and before that 2009. These are  rare; when you do find one, they almost always are heavily used and beat half to death..(thus the high price tag). You get what you pay for. You want an excellent example of this model...here it is...
