Charlie Dake (now deceased), was one of the first full time automatic knife makers, and brought the collector some of the first double action autos on the market during the 1990's. His shop was wiped out in Hurricane Katrina (2005), and he never fully recovered from that. He marked is knives with his name on the tang and numbered his knives on the backside .

This Leaf Spring Activated Side Opening Auto Operates by pressing on the Flush Mounted Damascus  Button. Features a Stainless Frame with Fossil Bone Handles.  4 1/8" Dagger Style Blade features ATS-34 Stainless. Features highly detailed Hand File Work (by Dake), on the backspring and liners that wraps around the bottom bolster and inside. Hand Engraved Stainless Bolsters featuren a deep relief, three dimensional scroll pattern by Engraver/Maker Andrew Lee Adams.   Measures 5 1/8" closed.

Auto Action is superb and lockup is rock-solid. Discreet automatic opening by pressing on the flush mounted Damascus Inlay. Opens manually via the thumb stud which details a Bone inlay. Locback design. Blade is perfectly centered when closed. Outstanding quality piece. Lots of detail work make this a superb investment. This is the best example of Dake's work with 17 hours of Hand Engraving (by Adams) featured on the Bolsters. Includes a custom zippered pouch and Signed Certificate from the engraver.
