Masters of Defense MOD (Early Production) Hornet Liner Lock Auto

Masters of Defense MOD HORNET Liner Lock Auto Designed by James Keating

MOD Hornet (Early Production Mid 2000's) designed by James Keating features a 3 1/4" Partially Serrated Gray Bead Blast Finished Blade features 154-CM Stainless with matching bead blast finished hardware; (push button, clip, screws). Black anodized aluminum handles with a non-slip rubber inlay on the front side. Flush mounted release button (which acts as the safety), and a pocket clip on the backside (tip down).

Measures 4" closed. Locks up like a drum via a stainless liner lock, making it one of the safest coil fired side openers on the market. USA Made. Early production piece is near mint. Never used, carried or sharpened. There are some very minor marks on the gray bead blast blade, but this may be from the kydex belt sheath which allows you to securely carry the knife in the open position.. Original old style Box is near mint.

Although the blade has thumb studs, this is not a double action auto. MOD (Masters of Defense) was way ahead of their time. The quality of early MOD knives rivals the early production Microtech models from Vero Beach, FL.  MOD was bought out by Blackhawk Industries and the production was moved to Taiwan. The early USA Made models are highly desired and are now hard to find.
