Vintage 1984 Schrade 80th Anniversary 1904-1984 Grand Daddy Barlow

Vintage (1984) Schrade 80th Anniversary "Grand Daddy Barlow" slip joint folder. "Schrade" was one of the largest manufacturers of pocket knives from their switchblades to the infamous LB7 lockback that competed with Buck's 110.

Measures 5" closed. Imit Jigged Bone Handles (Delrin) with a Nickel Silver inlay "1904 80th Anniversary 1984" . 4" clip point blade is special etched with the tang reading "SCHRADE  N.Y. U.S.A. 280" . Nickel Silver Bolsters are marked "SCHRADE". Blade is 1095 carbon steel. Vintage Schrade knives are famous for their edge holding quality. Brass lined.

Traditional Slip Joint folder. Blade has nice "walk and talk" = which means in knife lingo the blade has a strong backspring and snap when closed = a traditional sign of quality. Backspring also features some decorative "tooling".

Mint piece with special display/storage box.  (Knife has Never been used, carried or sharpened). This was made by the original Schrade factory in New York which has since closed and really is a part of knife history. (The rights to the "Schrade" name has since been sold.) The chances of ever seeing this knife again in such pristine condition is slim.
