Al Mar SERE 2000 Liner Lock Folder 

Manual Opening piece features a 3" Polished Blade made of VG-10 Stainless.  Easy open/One Hand Operation dual thumb studs. Overall length open is 7". Blackened stainless pocket clip (reversible), (tip up) right or left hand.. Black G-10 Handles with stainless liners and a Lanyard hole at the base... Features rock solid lockup via the stainless liner.

This model was made from 2007–2019 and is marked on the tang VG-10 FM Co./Japan (Fadden/Mar Co). After Al Mar passed in 1992, Gary Fadden (who represented the company for years at trade shows, etc), took over the company along with Al Mar's wife Ann Mar.. In 2007, Fadden began using the FM Co. (Fadden/Mar Co.) tang stamp. (There supposedlly was a lot of strife between Al's widow and Fadden on which direction to take the company.)

The early SERE models were made from 1979–1997 in Seki‑Japan by (G. Sakai). From 1997–2006: Al Mar knives were produced by Moki/Japan, and from 2007–2019: they were marked FM Co./Japan (Fadden/Mar Co.) and continued to be made by Moki. Interestingly G. Sakai is still allowed to make models for the Japenese market only, (these models are not available in the USA), and are quite collectible also..

Current Al Mar knives are now made in China and have little to no collector interest. The older Seki Japan models (including the FM/Co marked models) have a tremendous collector interest due to the high quality. This model is in excellent condition, It has been lightly carried.  Priced accordingly. Great EDC piece. VG-10 is a superb steel. No Box.
