Vintage WESTMARK (Coleman/Western) Model 701 Full Tang Heavy Duty Hunter/Skinner w/ Stag

Rare find from the mid 1980's. (They don't make'em like this anymore!). WESTMARK Model 701 Skinner (Coleman/Western). Features a 5 1/2" Satin Finished Clip Point Blade that is special etched. Blade steel is more than likely 1095 Tool Steel.  Heavy 3/4 Tang construction (blade runs 3/4 of the way thru the handle). Genuine Stag Handles (normally Rosewood) with Brass Pins. Serialized #1212 on the Brass Finger Guard. Aluminum Pommel. Measures 10" overall.

No Sheath. Includes a display case with glass lid.  Blade is marked "WESTMARK U.S.A. 701" on the front side of the tang. Mint Piece. This was never used, carried or sharpened. (No sheath). This is a superb quality vintage piece.  This Model 701, along with the 702 & 703 (which features different blade styles), were the top of the line of the Western States Cutlery and were among the most expensive models they offered. Coleman tried to bail them out, but eventually Western closed their doors.
