I missed the opportunity to own one of these beautiful examples of fine traditional Italian craftsmanship the first time around. As soon as I got an email that they were back in stock I didn’t hesitate. When the UPS driver handed me the heavily padded, professionally wrapped package,I felt the weight. This Batwing swinguard weighs over 3/4 pound!
The knife came wrapped in a plastic slipcover, inside of a supple, soft all leather pouch, all wrapped in lots of fine tissue paper, sealed by decorative Christmas themed tape. All this placed into a very well padded thick sturdy cardboard shipper’s box and sealed tightly in a waterproof foil coated bubble envelope. This is how AIK ships all my orders.Took delivery on 3rd business day,as order was placed on the weekend, or it would have been the 2nd day.
The knife is gorgeous. I requested that they send one with the scales as dark and solid in color as possible and i received Buffalo Horn handles that are a work of art. My new knife came well oiled. The swinguard and traditional ground bayonet blade snap open and lockup with a sound of authority and sounds like music to my ears. The guard sits atop the upper bolster tight and level, no movement at all. No blade play, and the blade and handle line up straight when sighted as you would along the length of a Billiard Q stick. The blade tip sits deep and centered. The flush button is inherently it’s own safety.
I held my new knife in my hands for over 1/2 hour just firing and admiring it. Thank you kindly Adams International Knifeworks for attention to detail and my requests, your timely answers to email inquiries and mostly for caring to acquire, sell and securely ship the finest cutlery one could hope to own.
